Unlocking the Potential of Circular Materials: Nordic Perspectives

Publish your research with MDPI

The Circular Materials Conference collaborates with MDPI, a pioneer in open access scholarly publishing, to provide participants with an opportunity to publish their research in two high-ranking journals: Clean Technologies and Batteries. MDPI, founded in 1996 and based in Basel, Switzerland, supports academic communities globally with 463 diverse journals, 72% of which are ranked in the top two quartiles of their respective fields. MDPI ensures that all content is freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY).

Submission Types

Researchers can submit original research and review articles based on their conference presentations. Detailed submission instructions can be found on the respective journal websites.

Take advantage of this collaboration with MDPI to reach a broader audience and contribute to advancements in sustainable technologies and battery materials.

Batteries

Batteries (ISSN: 2313-0105) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal on battery technology and materials, which is published monthly online by MDPI.

Batteries is indexed within Scopus (CiteScore: 4.0), SCIE (Impact Factor: 4.6), Inspec, Ei Compendex, CAPlus/SciFinder, and other databases.

Manuscripts are peer-reviewed and a first decision is provided to authors approximately 19.7 days after submission; acceptance for publication is undertaken in 2.6 days (median values for papers published in this journal in the second half of 2024).

Editor-in-Chief:
Prof. Dr. Karim Zaghib, Concordia University, Canada.

Clean Technologies

Clean Technologies (ISSN: 2571-8797) is an international, open access journal of scientific research on technology development that aims to reduce the environmental impact of human activities.

It provides a forum for promoting advances in the development of sustainable technologies that reduce environmental pollution and resource consumption.

Clean Technologies is indexed within Scopus (CiteScore: 6.1), ESCI (Impact Factor: 4.1), Inspec, AGRIS, RePEc, and other databases.

Types of Publications

Full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. Batteries and Clean Technologies require that authors publish all experimental controls and make full datasets available where possible (see the guidelines on Supplementary Materials and references to unpublished data).

Manuscripts submitted to Batteries and Clean Technologies should not have been published previously, nor should they be under consideration for publication in another journal. The main article types are listed below.

  • Articles: These are original research manuscripts. The work should report scientifically sound experiments and provide a substantial amount of new information. Each article should include recent and relevant references from within the field, and should follow a set structure that involves the following sections: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions (optional).
  • Reviews: Reviews offer a comprehensive analysis of the existing literature within a field of study, identifying current research gaps or problems. They should be critical and constructive and provide recommendations for future research. No new, unpublished data should be presented. The structure can include an Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Relevant Sections, Discussion, Conclusions, and Future Directions.

Submission Requirements

1. Please read the Aims and Scope to gain an overview and assess your manuscript’s suitability for the journal.

  • Batteries: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/batteries/about
  • Clean Technologies: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/cleantechnol/about

2. Please use the provided Microsoft Word or LaTeX template to prepare your manuscript. You can download templates and the Instructions for Authors via the journals’ homepages.

3. Make sure that any issues related to publication ethics, copyright, authorship, figure formats, and the formatting of the data and references have been appropriately considered;

4. Ensure that all authors have approved the content of the submitted manuscript and confirm that they have read the Instructions for Authors.

Important Notes

Deadlines: The full paper submission deadline will be announced closer to the event. Authors are encouraged to prepare their manuscripts early to allow sufficient time for revisions.

Peer Review: All submitted manuscripts will undergo rigorous peer review by the related researchers and the Scientific Committee of the Circular Materials Conference to ensure high scientific quality.

Article Processing Charge (APC): If the manuscript does not receive any reject reports during peer review, the APC will be waived. The full APC for Batteries is CHF 2700. The full APC for Clean Technologies is CHF 1600.

A cover letter must be included with each manuscript submission, identifying the manuscript as a submission from the Circular Materials Conference 2025. It should provide a concise explanation of the paper’s significance, placing the findings in the context of existing work. It should also explain why the manuscript fits the scope of the journal.
